A New Direction

At the beginning of the month, I thought that I needed to write on my blog more so I joined in on the Blog Everyday in May Challenge. I’m almost halfway through the month and I’m finding that my life is being pulled in a new direction. A more spiritual direction. An awakening is taking place that I didn’t see coming, filling a void that I didn’t realize was there. I feel as if something has been guiding me here all along, but I’m just now catching on. And even though where I’m headed wasn’t in my plan, I find myself poised, ready and willing to do the work that is to come.

Starting tomorrow, May 14, 2013, I will become a student of the self-study, spiritual thought system called, A Course in Miracles. Most of the spiritual leaders I follow refer to its teachings frequently, so I decided to see what all the hubbub was about. Instead of diving straight into the course, I decided to listen to the audio version of Marianne Williamson’s, A Return to Love: The Basics of A Course in Miracles; if you’ve seen the actual work book for the course, you’ll understand why — it’s quite intimidating! Let me tell you… listening to Marianne’s book was the best decision I could have made; she totally convinced me that I need to take the course. There’s no two ways about it. I especially love how she explained the course’s message of love and inner peace through forgiveness, without the sting of religion or dogma. This message is what I hope to learn over the next 365 days and beyond.

Tomorrow, I will embark on what I believe will be the beginning of a new way of thinking about everyday experiences. That’s a good thing. Don’t we all need that breath of fresh air? In my opinion, finding inner peace and love is the epitomy of living the simple life. Send me love, will you?

Peace and Blessings,

P.S. — I’ll still be writing about simple living, but will primarily be posting from my blog. You can still see my posts on Facebook, but subscribing to my blog will ensure you receive them in your email. You can subscribe in the box on the left side of the screen. Thank you all for your support, whether it’s by reading my blog or liking/commenting on the posts on Facebook, please know that I’m truly grateful for you.

Also, if you’re interested in going through the course with me, please send me a direct message on Facebook or reply to this post and I will see about creating a group on either Facebook or Google+.
