I had this thought this morning: What if we only shared good news? What would happen if instead of sharing the negative stories of the day, we only shared positive stories that made us smile, laugh or cry (in a good way)? What if we shined a light on a person, community or organization that consistently makes the lives of others better instead of giving more attention to the typical, depressing news stories we see all the time? What if we only spread the happy? How would things change? Would they change? Would WE change? I have a feeling, but I want to find out for sure.
Here’s where I need you.
Starting tomorrow, and for the entire month of February, I’m challenging everyone that sees this post to only share good news. Yes, only good news. Skip the violent, salacious, negative and downright unhelpful stories, pictures, memes and such. Let’s inundate Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Flickr and the like, with a solid month of goodness, and prove, once and for all, that good news can travel faster than bad news!
What do you say? Are you ready? Are you in? If you are, share this post on all of your social media sites. When you share your good news stories, be sure to use the hashtag #OnlyGoodNews. The month of February is not just for love anymore!
P.S. — At the end of the month, come back and let me know your results. I’m going to share the good news I find here and on all of my social media accounts, so you can follow along with me there, too. Remember to use the hashtag #OnlyGoodNews on all your posts!
