What We’re Reading
See… what had happened was…
OK, here’s the thing. We didn’t read much this week, even though we got lots of books from the library. *sigh* Some weeks are like that. I guess it’s because we didn’t have a lot of “school time” in the past week. I’ve been busy with seasonal house chores and the kids have been busy creating things. Sadly, I have no pictures of said creations because….
My Macbook and iCloud ran out of memory at the same time! Oh, oh, oh… and I broke my phone and had to get a new one. All of that made a sista want to…
But I didn’t. Instead, I’ve been busy transferring all things of things to a new external hard drive, which should’ve been way easier than it was, but I digress.
The good news is that I finally got everything squared away and we’ll be back in the swing of things next week. 🙂
What We’re Watching
Screen time has been on the low end for the boys lately for many reasons, but things are looking up because of a list of new shows that we can watch together. While I haven’t watched many of these suggestions yet, they do look promising.
- Horrible Histories
- DIY SCI
- Bill Nye, the Science Guy
- Human Planet
- Zoo Clues
- Story Bots
- Odd Squad
And, even though my boys are the ones old enough to watch, we will be watching this when it hits Amazon Prime on 10/21. Melody grows up in Detroit, after all.
What I’m Loving Right Now
Murals in the D
I want to take pictures of the kids in front of these murals. Goals. It’ll be cool to learn the history of each, too.
360 degree View of the Tomb of Osiris
Isn’t this breathtaking? I love seeing 360 degree videos. I have no idea how they do them, but I’m glad they do. (You’ll need a smart phone to view it.)
Secular Homeschool Blogs board on Pinterest
My blog is now part of a cool, new Pinterest board featuring other secular homeschoolers. It promises to provide awesomeness for a long time to come.
Kids Skate Free
The Kids Skate Free program was shared with me recently, and I just had to share it with you. Go to this link and see if a rink near you participates. If not, you can download information to take to your preferred rink to see if they’d be willing to participate.
Favorite Picture of the Week
Thanks for reading, and I’ll talk to you next week, friends!
